Le Derrière is a restaurant with a distinctly clandestine cache. Nestled up against a Moroccan eatery and tucked away in a Marais courtyard behind apartment 404 on the Rue de Gravilliers, you’ll find it if you look carefully enough. Behind the restaurant is a home from home, but you have to search it out! Decorated by Bambi Sloane, the interior designer who has become the icon of trendy London, this is a delightfully eccentric place akin to a boho apartment with a shabby-chic bedroom. On the ground floor is the dining room with its table d'hôte menu and salvaged furniture, a ping-pong table and a TV corner for meal trays. Upstairs is the bedroom, which can be privately booked for a dinner with friends, a retro bathroom and a secret room hidden away behind the door of a wardrobe.
