Barbara revealed at the Philarmonie de Paris
An exceptional performer, the French singer Barbara was the muse of the cabaret years of the Left Bank, became the darling of the Bobino Theatre, and gave concerts on the greatest Parisian stages.
The singer became a legend and her performances created lasting memories. The public gave her standing ovations and would only leave after many encores.
This singer who made timeless songs from the fabric of her life is now revealed through rare video archives, photographs and documents, including personal correspondence carefully preserved by her inner circle and never before shown in public.
This exhibition, the first at the Philharmonie de Paris to be devoted to a female performer, is an invitation to discover what it meant to be an independent woman and a multifaceted artist who wrote, composed and performed in the second half of the 20th century. Surprise concerts take place every Friday evening at 18:00 and 19:00 within the exhibition itself.
Until January 28th at the Philharmonie de Paris
