Cire Trudon, wax and candle manufacturer since 1643
In 2006, Cire Trudon lit the Sofia Coppola move Marie-Antoinette, providing candles for the filming on location in Versailles. In recent years the company has undergone a real renaissance through its new ranges of candles. They have created new classics such as the candles ‘cameo’ on which medallions form a hand-made homage to figures from history including Madame de Pompadour, Napoleon Bonaparte and the Empress Josephine. Then there’s the scented candles such as their ‘Solis Rex’ which evokes the scent of the Hall of Mirrors at the Château de Versailles, wax busts and the Cire Trudon flagship item, the perfumed Great Candle, which can burn for a few hundred hours. These and many more can be discovered in the new shop located in the heart of the Marais. JR.
