Lucas Carton, new tradition
The young chef Julien Dumas revives the glorious past by allowing a Michelin star to shine once more over the tables of Lucas Carton. Housed in a building built in 1839 by Charpentier, Lucas Carton is probably one of the top gourmet restaurants in Paris, and was certainly one of the first. It enjoyed considerable popularity in the late nineteenth century before being taken to the very pinnacle of success by Francis Carton in the 1930s, when it became the very first restaurant in Paris to receive the ultimate accolade of three stars in the Michelin Guide. In 2013, Lucas Carton was reborn to write a new page in gastronomic history amidst beautiful Art Nouveau décor where gastronomic creativity is revisited with modernity around healthy and wholesome ingredients and a touch of Mediterranean influence. Everything changes, yet nothing changes in this venerable institution, especially not the incredible view of the Madeleine from the 1st floor. Another delight. JR.
