On the walls at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs
Amongst the incredible collection held by the wallpaper department of the Museum of Decorative Arts, which has nearly 400,000 items dating from the 17th century to the present, there are 300 wallpapers of particular interest which will be exhibited from January 21st, 2016. Wallpaper has long been used for pure decoration, to illustrate, embellish and stylise, and here its story is told, showing the broad range of styles and skills that have been involved over the years. Running parallel to this exhibition is another featuring the fabrics and wallpaper creations of Pierre Frey, one of the leading names in interior design. JR.
"Faire le mur (Setting Up a Wall!) -Four Centuries of Wallpaper" and "Inspired Fabrics - Pierre Frey" are at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, from January 21st to June 12th, 2016
