The Louis Vuitton Foundation, the spirit of discovery
There’s a new monument in Paris. If the building designed by Frank Gehry to appear as sails inflated by the wind is the first artistic gesture, the planned programme of the Louis Vuitton Foundation, which begins with the exhibition Olafur Eliasson: Contact, certainly continues the trend. The exhibition by the Danish-Icelandic artist has been created especially for this building and includes choreographed lights, reflections, geometric shapes and moving shadows. The Foundation focusses on art in motion and the creations of today, but will also place in perspective various historical references, in particular those of the modern art of the 20th century. To board the ship with sails of glass means travelling to creation, to the discovery of the architecture, the permanent collections, temporary exhibitions and musical events. If you are visiting Paris, do not miss it! JR.
