La Pâtisserie des Tuileries, a tea room infused with forgotten flavours

Categories : Eating, published on : 1/19/15

Nestled under the arcades facing the Tuileries gardens can be found La Pâtisserie des Tuileries. This stylised tea room à la française is an absolute gem and a real find. Following the success of his patisserie on the rue des Martyrs, Sébastien Gaudard has opened this second establishment. Here the imagination of past centuries meets the relaxation of the present and this is where Sébastien works to raise the profile of traditional pastries. Chocolate orange dessert, chou caramélisé, éclairs, rum babas, tarts with figs or lemon or raspberry, monts-blancs, puits d'amour and many more are lovingly prepared to tempt the eye, awaken the appetite and delight the palate. In this delightfully bright, chic and inviting establishment all manner of delicious creations are perfectly aligned and candied fruit waits patiently and alluringly beneath glass bells. Drop in at any time of the day for a spot of relaxation and indulgence. Go on; you owe it to yourself! JR.
