3 ceramics shops to discover around Hôtel Fabric
Categories : Lifestyle, published on : 10/18/26
Between Oberkampf, Saint-Maur and the neighbouring 10th arrondissement, the area has kept its taste for craftsmanship, handmade work and creativity. Portuguese stoneware tableware, a studio-shop where you can shape clay, a creative café where you paint your own cup: three ceramics addresses to slip into your stay, and into your suitcase. Discover them and speak to our reception team for more information!
Céladon: the art of the table in Portuguese stoneware, rue de Crussol
Just steps from the hotel, Céladon dresses the table with stoneware tableware made by hand in Portugal. Plates, bowls, mugs, serving dishes, oil cruets: each piece comes in rich shades, from midnight blue to terracotta, and pairs with all the others. The pieces are oven, microwave and dishwasher safe: ceramics made for everyday use, not for sitting in a display cabinet.
Good to know: mix the colours and build your set piece by piece, that’s the whole idea of the house.
17 rue de Crussol, 75011. 7 minutes’ walk from Hôtel FABRIC.
Atelier Garrigues Céramiques: stoneware, porcelain and introductory workshops, Saint-Maur district
A little further up in the 11th arrondissement, Atelier Garrigues Céramiques combines a workshop and a shop. The programme covers hand-building, wheel-throwing, moulding and glazing, as well as one-off, single-session classes (jug, porcelain flowers, breakfast set) and an open studio for practising independently. Here, ceramic art and decorative objects are created, from plaster to clay, in stoneware and porcelain. The studio also offers introductory workshops: a hands-on way to understand the craft behind the piece you’ll take home.
Good to know: the studio has limited opening days, so it’s best to check before you go. And of course, our reception team is here to help!
32 rue du Général Guilhem, 75011. 12 minutes’ walk from Hôtel FABRIC.
Studio San: everyday stoneware and the creative café on rue d’Hauteville
We step out of the 11th for a moment to reach the 10th. Studio San creates functional objects designed for daily life, handmade in small batches, wheel-thrown or hand-built in a workshop in the Paris region. On rue d’Hauteville, the address takes the form of a bright studio-shop-café, where you can join a ceramic painting workshop of around two hours, accompanied by a breakfast, an afternoon snack or an aperitif. The piece is fired on site by the team.
Good to know: your piece is ready about ten days after the workshop. If your stay is short, ask about home delivery (extra charge).
20 rue d’Hauteville, 75010. 28 minutes’ walk from Hôtel FABRIC, or a few metro stops.
