What to do at the Tuileries Garden this summer?

A historic garden between the Louvre and Concorde

Just a few metro stops from Hôtel Fabric, the Tuileries Garden is a green oasis in the heart of Paris. Designed by André Le Nôtre in the 17th century, this masterpiece of French formal gardening is now a lively place that blends walking, heritage, and culture. It’s a must-see for all visitors staying in the capital, and a perfect spot to relax after a tour of the Louvre Museum!

For the summer season, numerous activities are organized for family outings or simply for a day combining nature and culture!

Visiting the Tuileries Garden: walks and free guided tours

Every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday at 2:30 pm, the garden offers free guided tours, no reservation required (subject to availability). Over the course of 1 hour and 15 minutes, a passionate guide reveals the history of the site, its major milestones, and fascinating anecdotes. Tours depart from the “grille du bord de l’eau” gate. Comfortable shoes recommended. Tours may be canceled in case of rain.

Creative workshops and cultural activities at the Tuileries

  • Cyanotype workshop: From age 8 and up, create a monochrome blue image using this unique artistic technique. Held every other Saturday at 10 am (Concorde entrance), duration: 2 hours.

  • Open-air drawing: Every other Saturday morning, for 2 hours 30 minutes, sketch the garden’s perspectives, statues, and pathways in an inspiring setting.

  • Stories in the Garden: Every other Sunday at 10 am, children aged 6 and over can enjoy a storytelling walk blending poetry and discovery. Reservation required.

An original experience: cultural jogging

Until September 7, 2025, discover the garden while running! This sporty visit combines jogging with historical discovery, led by a guide. Sportswear required.

Contemporary art at the Tuileries Garden

As part of a residency with the Louvre Museum, artist Mohamed Bourouissa photographs the garden each Thursday with his phone and shares the images on Instagram. A special meeting with Floriane Guihaire, deputy director of the gardens, will be held on April 6 at 11 am during the International Film on Art Days.
